Meet Daniel |
Bringing Reform to IllinoisAnother legislative session appears to be limping to a close in Springfield, without substantively addressing education, health care, our budgetary and tax problems, or any of the other issues that matter to most of us. In fact, there was scarcely any honest discussion of any of these issues. Even if this comes as no surprise given what we've seen in recent years, it's more clear than ever that we must change the status quo in Springfield.
Our campaign has always been built on the understanding that the old way of doing things has failed us and that we have no choice but to create a new model. People are now joining us at an amazing rate, committed to building a grassroots movement powerful enough not only to win in November but to bring real reform to Springfield in 2009. Thank you for this extraordinary outpouring of support! Every aspect of this candidacy is part of our project to empower ordinary people in the community to make change. This includes our unprecedented fundraising success, made possible by an amazing 2,100 contributions that will return ownership of our political process to the people; it includes our dedicated volunteers who are always finding new and innovative ways to communicate with their neighbors; and it includes Daniel's personal commitment to knock on doors every single day, learning about the concerns of people around the district and inviting them to join our campaign for change (just look at what this has done to his shoes!).
